On Vromolithos beach

July 18, 2020

If it ever was a chance of island Leros
at far from specks of heavens eternity
Would one lie down an aching carcass
for redemption by gods of humanity

If there was an end for earthly pains
by the singing hum of the cuddling waves
In the bosom of sheets of sand grains
under a blanket as full as the wideness is

If one hoary barren among the men of wealth
may humble oneself in front of the reach
Where grace is a jiffy of sanity and health
all promised on Vromolithos beach

Of blue sky age

March 21, 2020

Fiery trombone sounds
as if the rocket was late
Human – a God’s mistletoe
on Mother Earth is dying
in the role of parasite

Salted Hull

March 21, 2013

An arrow, mast of heights, breed images quivering
accelerating cheerful dance on the turquoise south
silhouette glistening, below mighty bright blistering

And where your smouldering loins meet dark water’s deep
there my soul stops along with straightened old feet

An increase of longing, and sweet hopes for common past
lazy summer afternoons, salty drops of seep in the mouth
no borrowed pain or remorse, only together at last

And as the sight finally turns into a dark nights peek
there my soul stops along with straightened old feet

The first poem since Feb '12.
Inspired by tight bowline knots and salted decks of teak.

Diamonds of Thrust

December 11, 2011

Mulled wine laced with spirits’.

Stilton of Derbyshire.

Home-baked gingerbread.

The mind is soon drifting with geostationary satellites.

just a tear away

March 13, 2011

a warm monsoon in the shower
and the artificial sixty watts
up in the ceiling
running in circles around the confused adult mind
while ten childish toes just giggle and bathe
in the lively vortex of the insufficient drain hole

and the drops patter

do not feel bad
must not feel sad
do not wish to wake the flood
do not feel bad
do not feel mad
do must stop the rising of the flood

a rain of fright in the deep dive
over the edge of the bed
with the devils
running in circles around the confused adult mind
while ten childish toes just snore and snuffle
under the light eiderdown of insufficient tarpaulin

and the drops patter

do not feel bad
must not feel sad
do not wish to wake the flood
do not feel bad
must not feel mad
do must stop the rising of the flood

Summer of ’10

November 16, 2010

Yon in deep of the summer, far.
Up wherein white continents wander.
Momentarily,
as rays of the sun escape in between the clouds,
brightly.
Finally free fulfilment of expectation grants a glimmer of light
being short but ever so complete.

Great Grandfather’s House

May 24, 2009

Great grandfather lived his life
upon a hill
at the edge of the forest

His son moved four hundred yards
to live his life
at the edge of the forest

Father moved four hundred miles into the burg
to live his life far away
from the edge of the forest

His son dreamed of places even farther away
but returned to live his life
at the edge of the forest

Rosemallows & Cypress

January 29, 2008

at nightfall in the tranquil blue air

under the crystal jewelled sky

prolific dreams are set on fire

and distress is left behind

Blue Orb

September 22, 2007
one bows towards new winds
one twinkles behind a massive
one gallops laughing; and sings
while the ones turn past in a jiffy

Makes Light White Inside The Core of Mir

February 18, 2007

What makes one peer
What makes one disbelieve
Is it violet
that makes it all so sore

Ones drift can overawe
in the detonation of impress
Is it yellow
that makes the abyss of the depress

Murky skies of wideness sinew
Bonny summers juicy thews
Is it green
that makes the quiescence

Spektr of June

February 14, 2007

Secluded loose location
the clincher views of instalment
does the gammas or x-rays look good upon as

Learn the glances of the universe
when Progress hits your body
How inane is one’s morning
without the sweet toast of honey

Will the stars prompt
if hope presumes
Will mankind ever insinuate
of the occurrence

On June 25, 1997, the Progress M-34 spacecraft crashed into Spektr while maneuvering for docking with Kvant-1.

Un soupir du désir terrible

November 28, 2006

November gloom yells spell of dire
makes waves in blunt swell high
Pining views thru optic wire
soul of the north in the hunt to sigh

Rodos street going one way
lies behind of Casino’s estate
Willing to meet a reborn day
where literature can vegetate

Durrell’s pines swaying young
kissing beams of the mighty sun
Yet passing will seasons remain
Where patience is a virtue
– almost; too hard to retain

Мир (11881 Mirstation)

November 5, 2006

Just 0.000018 parallax of one arc seconds away

Who will lean on the Soviet Union
whereat skies are black

Does it help out our impression
while Russian motherhood lies intact

Still

as even are the orbital tracks
so in heat will young virgins stay

Does burnt down skin and bones
Allow one’s soul to pray

In honoring the memory of Mir asteroid 11881 Mirstation
was named after the space station.

Το ποίημά μου στα ελληνικά

June 9, 2006
