I found myself new motto
The old motto “Life is a bitch and then you die” just walked out of the door and was replaced by something that really reflects my current state of mind. Actually I have always believed that once you do the best you can, then it should be enough. Nowadays it seems to be untrue. You are expected to run at least 110% all time. If not, then you’re considered as lazy and unmotivated free rider. Well, I have a question for the management. What kind of mileage can be expected with this kind of utilization? Or does it even matter to any of you as none is irreplaceable?
Continuous over-clocking of human resources is pretty shortsighted and very dangerous business, IMHO. It’s not similar as running some chips with higher clock frequency than normal. And do you know why? Simply because humans tend to be analogous instead of digital. You can notice this with an easy experiment.
Let’s imagine old TV that has analog program receiver and a little bit poor antenna installed. The program tends to have disturbance but even with considerable amount of such you would be happy to watch Super Bowl finals and still get the information who is playing and leading. I know, you might not enjoy too much though.
Then, if we compare to the digital alternative that has similar but all digital difficulties receiving the broadcast. What would happen? In fact I believe you would beat the crap out of the system and leave for a night in local bar. Why? Just because humans have extremely good analog correction system built in. We can build and compose a lot from small parts of the complete information. Unfortunately we completely fail in doing same with digital material. The digital error correction capabilities are nil, zero, none… nada. It’s easy to watch and follow an analog movie that has inverse BW colors and lacks every 5th frame. But if the picture looks like a board of Lego pieces during every 5th frame you probably can’t follow the plot too much. And I believe only few would even try.
Aah, one more thing… sweet statistics
I have checked the monthly statistics and was happy to notice continuing positive trend. Expeditions Irresistible might get over 300 visits this month!
After more than three years of blogging that is not so big figure if you compare to the good blog magnets. They get as many in an hour. I do however feel a bit proud of being able to every now and then produce something that has a meaning for me and maybe few others too. I do this as a hobby and fun. In general I tend to enjoy writing stuff. This joy can not be measured by counting the readers but only the content and maybe while getting the feedback.
Anyway, dear readers (who ever you are?) I’ll send you my humble thank you for the participation. I wish you all well.
Cheerio
